Health Minister Jane Philpott to repay $520 for Air Canada lounge access

Has anyone asked Health Minister Jane Philpott what she thinks of the nutritional quality of AC lounge food?

"Philpott billed taxpayers $520 for Air Canada lounge access, document shows"

Maybe it was a sneaky way for her to get samples for the lab.

Would she not be on AC VIP list and therefore have access to the lounge anyway ?

MP's don't travel Business Class for certain flights under certain time frames, thus no automatic lounge access, therefore to access the MLL she would need to pay to play or should I say the taxpayer pays her play...

I would expect any MP that doesn't live in YOW (or immediate vicinity) would earn, at the very least, E35K.

I believe government MPs are not allowed to join AE. Therefor no status.

Opposition leaders are. I'm surprised cabinet ministers wouldn't be. Especially a high portfolio as hers.

Also $520 that includes Europe lounge access? Sounds low unless that's just for the European MLLs

That's not true my MP is a senior cabinet minister and she definitely earns AP.

Never mind the horde of government mps I've seen in the lounge or with altitude tags over the years.

This is totally false. MPs/Senators and all Parliamentary staff can add any loyalty programs from airlines, hotels, VIA, car rentals to their profiles and request that they only fly/rent/book certain firms.

I know several MPs who are SE100K, Million Milers, etc.
