I've seen others around me thanked for flying with AC by the flight director. It's happened once when he apologized they couldn't do anything when my wife and i were separated during the upgrade (1 business class and 1 premium econ on a 787)

It certainly seems like there is more recognition. Recently in the lounges and even during boarding I have been thanked. It may not be important to some people but I personally like it. I don't need the ego boost but rather it shows that AC actually recognizes that the SE customers help the bottom line of the company.

I had the privilege of flying with YVR based (excellent!) Jamie on AC108 and 161 on Saturday who greeted me an another SE in Y on 108. On 161 I was up front and had time to chat and confirm with her that this is actually in policy.
Also, I learned that SD's (and maybe all FA's) have received a summary card just recently that shows all the AC elite levels and the corresponding BP/Manifest codes. I snapped a pic but due to deplaning hurry it's horribly out of focus.

I don't think I've ever been recognized for being SE when I am flying Y.
Upgrades are nice. Best perk of being an SE. That said I'd really prefer SE benefits to more practical or noticeable when I'm traveling in Y. I don't mean drawing attention to me -- but really, if anything would make an overall improvement to my wellbeing, it would be improving the experience in Y for SEs, since that's the least enjoyable at present.
(I say this because I'm stuck on a 3+ hour Y segment on Rouge in a few hours and I'm dreading it.)

No, it's actually incredibly condescending and happens far too often.
The correct response is "Oh you look too old to be working front-line customer service."
The message, in both cases, is pretty much the same.
wat.
I'd really prefer SE benefits that were at all noticeable when flying in J.
I get a "better" priority check-in line at some airports. I get meal priority. I get priority standby. And when problems arise, I can call the concierge.
In Y, your status gets you the above, plus:
So no, I think they've done enough for the SEs in Y, and should focus more on the SEs in J.

- Priority check-in
- Lounge access
- Priority boarding
- Upgrades
- Free seat selection on North American Tango
- Free preferred seats on all fares on all markets
- Free checked bags
- Priority security clearance (at most AC airports)
- Priority baggage handling
- LHR arrival lounge access
So no, I think they've done enough for the SEs in Y, and should focus more on the SEs in J.

My thanks this morning for my loyalty in J was. "Oh I'm sorry sir, I just gave away the last fruit plate that you want" when I asked why she did not follow the protocol and ask SE first, her response was " Well then!, I will just go take away the breakfast from another passenger"
I politely declined her offer to "take someone else's breakfast" and had a coffee instead.
Definitely not feeling the love.

I received my first 'Thank You' by a lounge agent at YVR DOM this morning.
Agent: "You're a 100k, Thank you for flying with us a lot. My name is ... and that is my colleague 'Chris'. Please let us know if we can do anything else for you".
Me: *Stun*
