Sure they do, they offer plenty of AC Y award space

They even throw in EI subcontractors on YYZ-DUB as an alternative

Inventory is the same for both programs, they difference is that I can fly LH, TG without paying $1000+ for it. And change/cancel my awards at will for free.

Further to the UA Polaris discussion upthread, this video was posted yesterday.

United - Polaris 360-Degree Virtual Tour

AC obviously made a smart decision to refurb all the 77s to have the same cabin as the 788/9s, delivering a more consistent hard product on the wide bodies. The premium space on airlines keeps moving forward....

Just hit UA MP Gold

Just hit UA MP Gold - Haven't left the continent.

Was pleasantly surprised that I was gold the instant I hit 50,141 miles. No waiting for a sweep.

I'm not familiar enough with the other FFP's out there to know this basic question, but why does LH and TG charge carrier surcharges on AP awards, but not on MP? Does the YQ actually go to LH or does AP keep this?

Having access to LH awards without the gouging would actually make me want to use my miles...

I think one of the bloggers did a comparison recently on select routes showing the differences in miles required from Aeroplan vs UA MP, the differences in fees, if any, and so on. I'm sure this comparison also exists somewhere on FT.

Neither. LH does not get the YQ, nor does Aeroplan keep it.
There maybe some internal billing between the 3 parties - but the YQ money trail ends in the hands of the ticketing carrier - that being Air Canada.

That doesn't make any sense. I suppose this is why they're called Scam charges?

This would make an interesting class action suit for a starving firm...
