Aeroplan & TK

Admittedly, Aeroplan in's and out's are not my strong suit. Looking at burning off points and using TK/IST as a stopover point and backtracking through TXL. How is availability for TK Business Class and best bets for space from any of their current TATL gateways? Presumably YYZ on short notice is tight. Any tips would be appreciated.

YUL and BOS are probably a little easier to get than YYZ on short notice. Not daily though.

EDIT: Having said that, seems like TK isn't releasing seats to partners as often any more... quite a few flights from YUL and BOS with I=2 or 4 in the next few weeks on Expertflyer but see none of those in Aeroplan.

Had access to those YUL flights just last year

I got us TK YYZ-IST-CGK in J no problem this Dec (booked 350days out) but nothing at all coming back from IST, nothing. And I've been checking daily for months and months.

There was a short window where there were 7 J seats open YYZ-IST.

How many people are you? There's quite a bit of availability for 2 people for IST-YYZ in December, just not for 3+ people.

OR if you are departing YYz Around Mid-end November, there are lots of Award seats on TK out of ORD. You could do YYZ-ORD-IST.

I see YUL-IST 11/13, BOS-IST 11/15, BOS-IST 11/26, BOS-IST 11/27.

Coming back...

IST-YYZ on 11/12, 11/23, 11/24, and 11/28.

IST-IAD on 11/13, 11/24

IST-JFK on 11/18, 11/22, 11/26, 11/30

IST-BOS on 11/21, 11/23, 11/25, 11/26

All are based on connections out of YYZ. I didn't search JUST the gateway routes, so there may be more availability if you want to fly from elsewhere or position outside of your Aeroplan ticket.

I booked 4 J seats YYZ - somewhere (can't remember, perhaps ORD) - IST last year; then kept a close watch and at some point a few weeks out YYZ-IST direct opened up and I made the switch.

It made me smile that you started a thread. Thank you.

keep in mind, if you do YYZ-*-IST-TXL
your return most likely can't go through IST again due to excessive MPM from above outbound...
unless you make IST your destination (24+ stay) and pay Europe 2 miles

TK has 6 Northeast cities to try. I find ORD/YUL easy to find.
YYZ, YUL
ORD, IAD, JFK, BOS

Go for A333/77W/77B

On this point, I would recommend you check out the new MPM thread that started around December last year. The changes did hurt some of the longer routes.
