Equipment Change: 3 cabin to 2 cabin
AOriginal OP removed for obvious reasons.
Revised OP
When Aircraft get swapped from 3 to 2 cabin configurations, how should PY be treated?
Move to Z (restricted business class)
Move to Latitude (fully flexible economy class)
Or
Move to Flex (often the closest fare in terms of price, although based on newly posted PY TPAC fares, AC is trying to change that)

I wonder how full PY was, and whether people who aren't SEMM were given the same treatment
I have a hard time believing that 21 N fares would be moved into J. But you never know...
Glad to hear AC did something customer-friendly.

I figure they are charging back these penalties to the seat manufacturer who can't come up with the 777 retrofit on time. The same used to happen with IFE failure when they were issuing thousands of dollars in compensation and probably just billing back the manufacturer. So, I doubt AC is being charitable.

It's dangerous to post good deeds on FT.
The file was handled as it should be. I don't know if it was according to policy or not, but I validated it with ticketing and they confirmed. Maybe new policy of being a bit more flexible. Maybe something along the lines of UA's surprise gestures foe top Tiers. Since AC doesn't publish any comprehensible policies, who really knows what one can expect.
This thread probably shouldn't have been started.
