UA/AC Fare alignment question...from the AC perspective
Hi everyone,
I'm considering a United Airlines EWR-TLV ticket, W class, and was curious if anyone out there knows whether Air Canada/Aeroplan will regard this as a "Flex" fare (100% miles) or a "Tango" fare (50% miles).
I'm confused because the Aeroplan website seems to indicate that W with United earns 100%, while all the info that I can find on AC.com indicates that it would be Tango. Thanks in advance for your advice!

You're trying to determine what a United fare will earn in Aeroplan miles. Suggest you look for the reciprical thread to this one in the Air Canada forum.
Happy hunting.

You want to be looking at the partner mileage accumulation page for UA on the Aeroplan site here: https://www4.aeroplan.com/earn_miles...Partner=United. Click on the eligible flights tab near the bottom, and you'll see the chart which indicates W fares earn 100%.
And yes, this probably would have been better directed to the AC forum.

Go to UA web site under mileage plus, and find partner airlines and it will tell you what miles you earn on all STAR partners.
here is the link to AC

since you are flying United, on a United paid ticket this should be on UA forum.
Go to UA web site under mileage plus, and find partner airlines and it will tell you what miles you earn on all STAR partners.

He is crediting AE, so he will look on the AE website and see what they credit
flights flown on UA.
What UA's Mileage Plus will credit for this fare is completely irrelevant
to OP's question.

AC does NOT fly EWR-TLV.
That is a UNITED ticket, so to know what mileage he will get on a UNITED ticket you would use the LINK I provided.
So *chuckle* how wrong can you be.
And for that reason this should be on the UNITED FT site not AC.
Lets wait for the OP to explain if he wants to suffer the 787 in Y on AC to TLV, instead of going direct in a much nicer seat on UA.

Link in post 3 is correct; ignore Why Fly's erroneous post.
Your correct that a W fare on AC metal earns 50% and a W fare on UA metal earns 100% to the aeroplan program.
However; buying a W fare on a united ticket but booked on AC (ewr-yyz-tlv) may not necessarily equate to a W fare on AC. Confusing yes.

Moral of the story: book with the operating carrier, never codeshares, if you want to know for sure what fare class you're going to get.
