Depends on the ingredients. But hot food should be hot, cold food cold. Lukewarm is a breeding ground.

If it is only pasta without sauce there is little risk, but the sauce could contain many things. But I am very leery of buffets generally.

YYZ US lounge---food situation

In the YYZ USA Maple leaf lounge (Tues night, 7:25pm) ... the only "food" seems to be:

tortilla chips
salsa
soup
stale vegetables
gross looking veggie dip
apples (pretty spongy apples at that)
cookies

Is there no actual dinner food? Is this an anomaly, or is this the situation now? I haven't been in the US lounge in a while. Was in the international lounge at YYZ a couple weeks ago at this time of the evening and there was a ton of decent food---sushi, hot pasta in sauce, etc etc.

Maybe the food situation is due to the weather? or flow control into YYZ?

Should I ask/complain to one of the downtrodden looking workers?

Offering in the US lounge is akin to the domestic lounge, so don't expect the array of hot food on offer in the International lounge.

I see

I guess I should stop complaining and go downstairs and buy some sushi or a sandwich. Better than stale vegetables.

I've consistently noticed that US lounge food is worse than Canadian lounge. Canadian lounge always has more choices. Can anyone verify?

The YYZ transborder lounge does not offer the same variety as the domestic lounge. I'm in there now and still soups, salads, and nachos.

Or go downstairs to Plaza premium lounge.... If you have Amex Plat or Priority Pass you get free access.

The YYZ trans-border MLL has the worst food offerings of all three MLL's in YYZ regardless of the time of day. Most of my travel is to the U.S. and I forget the other MLLs actually serve food. It is always a treat when I fly domestic

Consistently true. I always assumed it was so the UA folks wouldn't be surprised by actual food.

For the 3 MLL's in YYZ, the order of food quality/selection from best to worst is:

International > Domestic > Transborder

The transborder MLL is just terrible in terms of food offering.
I have no idea why AC doesn't do anything about the gap between the domestic and transborder lounges.

I was in the YYC MLL last week (Thursday). The renos on the entry area are still going and the one side of the lounge is blocked off but the rest of it is done.

Food though? Brutal.

There were two salads: cold noodle and roasted beet and 2 soups. Nothing else but bread, pretzels and cookies. Oh and the cold noodle salad and one of the soups was completely empty (as in you couldn't even scrape up any soup in the spoon). I was there from 12:45 to 1:45 and nothing got replaced.

I took some pictures and forwarded them on to AC. Deleted them though before I thought to post them here
