Op-Up from PY to J
Hi all,

Just curious, has anybody ever been op-up'ed from PY to J, either in the dreaded 77HD or 787?

I am booked in PY which is full, and the J cabin almost empty...

Suppose it could happen if the economy cabin is 100%+, then the normal process would be to move the highest ranking elite(s) into the next cabin. So if PE is also 100%, then an SE (or two or more) would be moved from that cabin into J, then a similar ranking elite would be moved from Y into PE to accommodate overflow in economy. And so on...

I wonder if they would bump up a SE to J (given there was room) if there were Y passengers trying to upgrade to a full PE cabin....

I was bumped up on a 777HD once from PY to J as only a *G. I considered myself extremely lucky, travelling on a Friday.

Yes, I got an op-up from PE to J on CDG-YYZ flying on a N-fare on Dec 31.^

It was the 787 and flight was J2O0Y0.

Yes it does happen... I suspect than if there is need for Op-up they will Op-Up PE before Y.
