SNOW STORM: Will AC be ready?
I wonder if they have adjusted staffing for this, or will be all be surprised tomorrow?

I am not picking on AC particularly, it's just that this is the AC forum.
You know what would really make my day?
Seeing all the US airlines confused and running around, while our Canadian airlines go "what snow?"
I know that airport ops are not under AC's control, but I am sure you get my point.

To be fair though it's not like severe weather is common in January.

In December 2014's enRoute the Letter from the CEO talks about what AC has done to better their preparedness against weather-related IRROPS since the big storm the year before:

Not minimizing the strength of this particular storm but I am really getting sick of historic being used annually to describe winter storms. Right up there with hero.

bizarre comment!
On Jan 12, my UA flight to NRT went IROPS. The 1K desk contacted Star Alliance partner AC and voila, I was re-routed YYZ-HND. I arrived earlier than orig sched!
My point is that AC has considerable int'l capacity out of YYZ, YUL which could easily accommodate diverted passengers. With all of the cancellations, I am certain that is well underway. Not to worry, no diversions will affect YYC aka I am alright Jack - I mean Stranger!

No airline is 'ever' ready for a snowstorm.
I am ready, took ownership of my situation because I can. Cancelled my YHZ flight for tomorrow. Will re-book when weather is better.
Looking to book to YQT or YQG as I need to make sales calls in both areas and weather is mostly cold
