Highlight - or lowlight - of my day in PHL was the guy that (a) refused to let guy with canes get in front of him when the agent decided to preload canes-guy (and I quote, "I'm zone 1"), then a few moments later when zone 1 was called, broke out of line and became zone zero, apparently deciding the 3 people in front of him could not possibly be zone 1 also (older couple, then me).
Grrrrr to this state of 'me first'.

Recent reports indicate "Me First" is a relative of "Mine is Bigger"

To be fair, the majority of the time I'm trying to line up for zone 1 boarding, 80% of the people between me and the podium are not zone 1.
Unless there's a separate line, it's actually a very reasonable assumption that people ahead of you are not zone 1.
That doesn't make the behavior acceptable, just the assumptions.

True. I like United' approach better.Separate lines for each of 1-5. Less confusion.

Yes they did call zone 1 first but with a massive crowd everywhere, it was not easy to make your way to the podium. And with 3 GAs behind 3 different podiums, no one really knew which one was "open" for boarding due to the lack of lane identification.

Yep a naked guy yelling coming through would probably be very effective at parting the sea of people

SFO AC 1843.
I got to the gate area a little late. They announced zone 4 right before I got in line. The person in front of me was turned away as a zone 5.
The plane wasn't even half full when I got on.
So some US stations can get it right

I'd honestly say you should write in whenever you see anything THAT ridiculous.
And try to get the agent's name

I could understand if it was a Beechcraft or something smaller. Oh well, maybe it was because the flight is only half full and overhead space is abundant. They didn't even put the zone signs up. They were pushed off to the side.

AC 1176 leaving gate 47 in YVR.
Separate 1/2/3-5 signs.
They called up about 10 people (standby? upgrades?) who all stood in the zone 1 line because it was right at the podium.
Then they called zone 1, and we had to go through the zone 2 line, which was luckily empty.

Nope. Just a generalized "everyone board now" announcement.

sounds like istanbul. Last year on one IST-YYZ flight, while we were waiting in the lounge this TK staff member basically walked thru saying "get on the plane" and a mad rush ensued. normally there is a more organised mad rush.
