Oct 22 - 24 15% off fare sale question

On the aircanada.com website, there is currently a 15% off sale.

Has anyone noticed if it is for lowest Tango fares only, or is it also applying to the other fare classes (i.e. premium economy)?

Thanks! I will need to wait around some more for a real sale.

I'm curious to know if J/O seats actually ever go on "sale" (besides market price fluctuations).

A while back, there were some last-minute sales on the Tango and Flex to select U.S. destinations. I'm guessing the algorithm noticed a few empty seats for those markets and/or flights.

Do you have any idea what kind of "algorithm" they use?

Like, is it just some kind of "if <50% sold by T-30 days, drop prices x%" or a full blown multivariate statistical model?

There are FT members on this board way better qualified than me to answer that. I suggested algorithm as it seemed to me revenue management and marketing have all manner of software to keep track of load factors. Given the prices I see/pay for my regular destinations, the previous brief sale window for both Tango and Flex caught my attention.

But thanks for reminding me to use another word next time.

These kind of promotions usually only apply to Tango fares.

Any chance AC files A fares between the US and Canada for travel on UA ?

I have read all material re this "offer" - including the small print - and it does not specically say which fare classes are applicable. I note however that PE fares YVR/LHR are the same today as last Monday for November travel so I conclude the offer is not applicable to PE fare classes. Pity I would have bought one.
