Western Canada to Asia Flight Pass price increase?

Did the cost of the Western Canada to Asia flight pass (6 credits) increase from $3800 to $5300 over the last month? or is my memory failing me?

I also see there is a new Student version of this pass with 4 credits in flex for $6400.....

i don't think just Western Canada, as I was just looking at Flight Passes a few days ago and notice a lot of passes price went up too. For Asia, the one from Eastern Canada also went up.

Yikes, you're right. It's gone waaaay up in price! That's quite pricey for Tango bookings! It's now more than double the price of the pass when it first launched ($2550)!

It's interesting that the student version books in Flex. The non-student pass has always booked in Tango.

At 3,200.00 round trip for the student Flex I wonder why they even bother...

Unless this books into M (not specified) this is a total waste of money IMO. And 3,600.00 from East Coast? No thanks!

Yeah. A lot of the flight passes are overpriced now, unless you are hoping to upgrade from M/Y/B fares.

I was going to purchase the pass today but have resigned to buying the flights ala carte.

Must be the increased cost of fuel.

I've said it before and it keeps ringing true, with all of these increases the pass version of flights is starting to cost more than a somewhat planned flight.

I used to buy passes more regularly because they were a good deal and made sense with looking at the advantages. In some cases they still do, but it's far less often (at least for me).

Always has, but ringing truer and truer - pass prices going up while overall pricing is declining is an odd mix.

The EU Pass from Eastern Canada for two people is still the same @ $5,592 because this is what I paid for 1.5 months ago. Also the one person is still @ $4,194

However as for the Asia FP... I actually listed the price in my BB for future reference.

So from Eastern Canada to Asia it WAS $4,158 now its $5,898.
However with the old pricing it was Tango with 50% miles but its with 100% miles but still Tango.

Earn up to 100% Aeroplan Miles (Altitude Qualifying Miles) for distance flown
Flight credit bookings are subject to availability for the Tango fare option (W booking class)

It's handy to have some historical pricing, so here's some more data points: The 8 credit Eastern Latitude Europe Pass for 2 people was $10,640 in March and May of this year - same price as today. It was $10,160 in Nov 2012 and in October 2011.

Yes, it's always been 100% on the international segments since day 1.

I have been a heavy FP buyer over the years but it pretty much no longer makes sense to buy them with the increases in price.
