You're right, but there is J availability YYZ-TPE on May 6. Which means you'd arrive in BKK by 10:30 am on May 7, only a few hours later than a TATL departure on May 5.

YYZ-CAI-BKK on Egyptair is an option too. Decent seat, no YQ and a free hotel in CAI. No booze though.

you will have to fight with Aeroplan 9/10 times to not charge you Africa miles for this one, but as long as its all 77W, its a pretty decent option.

I would suggest TK YYZ-IST-BKK if you are able to do that. I'm doing that next month. Had to fly the return IST-YYZ on AC, which resulted in YQ but it wasn't that bad, and if you can snag the whole thing on TK there isn't any surcharge (unless that changed since I made my booking) and is flat bed all the way.

Is this still the case?

I looked up YYZ-LHR-BKK on AC/TG and YQ was $516 for just the one way.

I have no complaints about the 6 CA flights I took this year (2Y/3J/1F).

Make sure that from PEK to BKK you get the 772 or the A330. Avoid the 737!

On board, CA beats AC without question, and on top of that, you dont line AC's pockets with reward YQ.

Great selection of tea, you get PJs for the long flight too
Love the selection of tea. They even have a menu, and a description of each.

YYZ-NRT-BKK

This is a great route to take to get to BKK. The best part is the night arrival in BKK that you are so tired, just fall asleep, wake up in the morning and jet-lag issue is resolved after a decent nights sleep.

Sorry but this is not correct. YQ for YYZ-Europe-BKK can vary anywhere from $350 to $465 one way depending on involved airlines.

YYZ-LHR-BKK on AC/TG has a YQ of $465.

Apologies then, looks like the loophole out of the scam is not always applied, and the scamcharge is random

I wouldn't have expected anything less from AC/Aeroplan.
