SE Lounge at LHR

My first trip to LHR as a SE and they escorted me to the "SE Lounge" inside the MLL. Never noticed it there before. Do any other MLL's have this? I know T1 in YYZ doesn't, so why at LHR?

I guess it is supposed to be comparable to the FC lounges / sections that many airlines have?

I was in that MLL last month. It must have a very secret door because I never noticed any other rooms except the overflow at the end.

Was just there. I think I wandered into it, smoked glass doors, lounge within a lounge.

Go into the main part of the MLL with the bar to your left, facing the windows that look out onto the apron, there is a second room to your right, go into that and there is a second bar on your right, and to the right of that is the "the secret door".

There is nothing special in the SE room the food and drink is the same as the main MLL, sometimes "special" people are put in there, and they can be interesting to watch/overhear etc.

The main benefit is it can be a quite haven when the main lounges are packed.

On my first visit there I was also escorted by one of the (extremely helpful) concierges. It is tucked away and very quiet, almost too much so. The drink and food (AC cheese and crackers) is no different from what's available in the main lounge area - and there are no windows.

When I was last there the concierge did mention that it might be closing fairly soon to make room for a business centre. Although it is very nice, I've never seen more than a couple of people in there on any occasion, so a business centre would be a more efficient use of space.

There was only one other person there when I was there, which was a bit creepy. Think I prefer the main room, to watch the aircraft coming and going, as well as people watch.

Question 2: Fastrack through Immigration in LHR is great, at certain times of the day. Why is there nothing like this in YYZ T1 for J pax / SE? Not enough traffic?

PS - Academic - ALL the staff in LHR are great! Esp. Dawn and Dave, both part of the concierge service.
