Considering how easy Silver and Black are to achieve, I doubt that AE will be sending out cards and bag tags each year. Hopefully they won't do this for any of the tiers as it will just serve to further confuse people with Altitude.

Although I did get an 'Airmiles Gold' card when I achieved the Gold status one year.

Does anyone know if the AMEX Gold Rewards card is considered an Aeroplan affiliated card?

Requirements:

hold or acquire an active, Aeroplan-affiliated mileage accumulating financial card between June 28, 2013 and March 31, 2014, and
are the primary cardholders of an active, Aeroplan-affiliated mileage accumulating financial card in good standing on March 31, 2014.

No, this promo are for any credit cards that earn Aeroplan miles directly.

I still think this is a bad move on the part of CIBC, but then The Market thinks its a great deal and still loves AE despite all the problems we know exist with the program. Distinction may improve matters somewhat but the hefty surcharges on awards remains, and the huge increase (20% after 40% hikes two years ago) to premium awards only makes it of less value year by year.

You're right . . . . . refer para #5 of Aeroplan t & c :

5.Offer is subject to change at Aeroplan’s sole discretion, without notice; other conditions and restrictions may apply.

Transfer of Amex Gold points does not count

Seriously? The promo is for having an active card on March 31, 2014. How can you expect the miles to already be credited?

T&C:

These bonus miles will be credited to member’s account 12 weeks following the end of the promotion. Maximum of 15,000 bonus miles per member.

Well one of the ways to reach it is: Reach 2014 dBlack or dDiamond Status by December 31, 2013

The March 31st is an OR. Why should I have to wait until then if I have already cleared the first requirement?

It's not like the promo ends on Mar 31st. It technically ended on Dec 31st (you can't register for it any more). Now is just the qualification period and I have already qualified.

Miles please.

Perhaps you need to read a little closer. The March 31st date is to reach 2015 Distinction status.

From the link above.

Here is what you need to do:
  1. Register from June 28 to December 31, 2013
  2. Reach 2014 dBlack or dDiamond Status by December 31, 2013 or reach 2015 dBlack or dDiamond Status by March 31, 2014
  3. Make sure you have an active Aeroplan-affiliated financial card on March 31, 2014

The "or" is a condition of item 2. You need to satisfy items 1, 2 AND 3 to get the miles. The condition of item 3 cannot be satisfied until March 31, 2014. Why do you expect miles now?

Here is what you need to do:

1.Register from June 28 to December 31, 2013
2.Reach 2014 dBlack or dDiamond Status by December 31, 2013 or reach 2015 dBlack or dDiamond Status
by March 31, 2014
3.Make sure you have an active Aeroplan-affiliated financial card on March 31, 2014

Okay okay you're right I totally ignored point 3 for some reason.
