Sneaking into the MLL ?

I was walking up the stairs to enter the lounge at YYT this morning and a guy right behind me says "I forgot to ask for a code when I checked in. I'll just go in with you." I didn't say anything.

The check-in staff always writes the code on my BP. I think I "involuntarily guested" this guy in. He seemed pretty smooth about it, so I'm guessing it wasn't the first time.

Did he have current luggage tags on his carryon?

Sneaking into the MLL ?

And just now walked by a commotion at the YVR transborder lounge. Lounge dragon was telling some guy he had no right to be there. Walked downstairs and a police officer was waiting to take the elevator up. Looks like it's my day for lounge drama!

Tough call. It would be pretty rude to pull the door closed behind you, and someone else would just let him in anyway. I wonder how much abuse of entry happens at these unattended MLLs YYT, YQR?

Was the dude being tossed from the YVR TB MLL acting like a jerk?

Do the police get complimentary MLL access? Sounds like he had no right to be there.

I don't know. I was exiting and just saw the commotion in passing. I had the impression the guy had been in the lounge a while. Earlier there was no agent at the desk when I went to ask about something.

So if you "involuntarily guested" the person in, and he goes nuts and causes damage or whatever... would you be on the hook since you are the person bringing him into the lounge?

In my recent few experiences in the YYT MLL over the past few months, you would never know who got guested and who didn't since there's no "desk" to speak of and only one attendant that does many things in the lounge and isn't always there to see when you walk in--not sure if this has changed.

I can't recall a time where check in staff have *not* written the PIN on my BP so it would seem suspicious to me. Mind you, I suppose if you've printed your BP at home or have it on your cell & no baggage to check you might go through security and then think "Damn, whats the PIN to the lounge" so I'm not sure I would have done anything different from you.

Months ago when I was in the YVR DOM MLL three young kids (late 20's) sneaked in and I ratted them out. The Dragon when up to them and asked to see their BP they showed them and they were escorted out. They looked around as they looked embarssed!

More cookies for me, is what I said

Huh? How did that work? They bolted it past the dragon, or was the dragon not doing a good job protecting the lair?

Isn't the YVR DOM MLL a desk on the first floor with stairs going up?
