Post your *A lounge access success/failures here for those w/o *G Altitude card.
I guess I'll start this one off since many will want to get an idea of how many of us end doing the walk of shame out of a *A lounge.
I won't be attempting this a few days from now so will post my attempt at that time.
If you are traveling and do not have your new Altitude card to access a *A partner lounge (e.g. other than AC obviously), please post your success/failures here for those who have tried.
List:
1. Success or Fail?
2. Day and time of attempt
3. Airport Code e.g. ORD
4. Terminal (and concourse/section/location if applicable of lounge) e.g. T1 Concourse B
5. *A partner lounge e.g. UA RCC
6. Flight # and destination e.g. AC502 YYZ
7. Anything else you would like to say
Good luck everyone!

Three of us talked our way into the lounge at MPM . The agent pointed out the expired date but we explained the situation and he let us in.
BTW it serves SA flights but is called the Premium Lounge.

Since a certain member of the royal family was so sure that *G on BP would allow for access to lounges... and it's been more than 24 hours since the new year began...
It appears that a few people have failed to gain access already:
Todare: Which I assume is ANA lounge in NRT
"Just wanted to say outside NA right now. didn't get in. lucky i have access to another lounge but i thought i would try as an experiment. I am somewhere less usual so maybe they aren't so nice about AC here. who knows. Home tomorrow thank goodness NO SLEEP"
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/20342222-post55.html
Snoopyo: Failed at EWR
"The checkin agent in LAS waived the luggage fee and give me *A G allowance but the dragon at EWR club would not let me in and refused to call AC to verify my status. "
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/20343773-post65.html
Rooflyer: Failed at MEL
"Refused access at Air NZ lounge in MEL on 1 March due to no 'valid' *A card"
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/20344432-post25.html
Moral of the story: NO CARD, NO LOUNGE!

Managed to talk my way in the lounge at BKK this morning. Check-in agent seemed to be aware of the situation and made a few calls while printing the boarding pass.
Common sense prevailed this time, hopefully I am as lucky in NRT later this week....

UA in IAH, SAT or ORD didn't seem to care about the card on the 1st. But on the 29th the UA club in LAX made me fish out my card...
I have a couple more stops next week, but if I don't get into the US lounge in PIT I consider that a win.

CDG
T1, satellite 4
LH lounge

Only used BPs. Had cards but wanted to test so we didn't offer them. BPs didn't scan so the agent had us enter the lounge and she brought us the BPs after entering them manually.

Walked up to a chap trying to get into UA Club in Den with no AC card yesterday. I guested him in with my A3 status as the attendant wasn't quite believing his story that AC hadn't sent out his card.
Hopefully the time I spent with him convinced him that A3/UA status combo was best way forward.
