Dear Air Canada - why you just lost 20 thousand dollars
My dear friends at air Canada.
I have just booked two three business class tickets to Asia, and two to Australia. My preference was to fly Air Canada for all of these, and boy did I try.
Because of your new silly Tango fares, and the fact that all of your coupons apply to Tango only, I couldn't justify to any one of the payors, or myself, paying your fares. Ironically, if the coupons had been applicable to tangoplus, (oops sorry FLEX in newspeak) they would have been. I will now enjoy the best that other airlines have to offer.
It's almost like "dear shell, I used to buy the cheapest grade of gas of yours with hopes of getting mid tier gas at the same cheap price. since that cannot happen anymore i buy from esso with their highest grade product."

Signed
Another dissatisfied superelite.
Yup, you showed them. You didn't book "two three" business class tickets to Asia because 10% off promo only applies to Tango.
Makes perfect sense.
Crystal clear.

I never fly AC to SYD/MEL either, as paid J is always cheaper with UA or DL. I take the extra connection, and pay anywhere from 3-4k less RT in most instances.
In all these cases these were linked to an economy ticket that I also purchased for a fly-along family member, that would be upgraded (or at least attempted) with the piles of unused eupgrades I have now accumulated since I keep booking off AC. Of course this is a no-go with Tango
As a result I continue to book non-AC star alliance flights, and buy the extra business class ticket for less than I would pay for the original AC single business class ticket plus a tango plus.

Clearer?
It may be clearer (more clear?) but why you would write an open letter to this forum rather than sending your comments directly to AC management is totally beyond me.
I have written directly to AC, but that is a remarkably unsuccessful strategy.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you will realize that AC reads this forum.
And more importantly because it is what I felt like doing, in a forum dedicated to discussing these issues. It it is beyond you, then why bother reading and responding?

His 10:47 post is a completely different issue then the first one...
What he actually meant in original post, is that a lot of promotion codes only apply to T, not to other fare classes which is annoying.... For example, today there is 20% off to Australia (http://www.aircanada.com/en/offers/a...adiscount.html) - it doesn't work for Flex or anything else... so you're already paying an even bigger premium for Flex... why the 20% doesn't apply to Flex too is beyond me...

Thank you......and this was the coupon that pushed me over the edge.
