Had some flights to LAS this past week and no tier bonuses posted today. Just realized that there will be none until we select our benefits. Oh well, hopefully that will give them time to make sure they post as 2013 bonuses instead of 2012 bonuses.

I thought the 2012 benefits were in effect until March 1. Guess that's why mine haven't posted yet either...

Is there any difference between 2012 and 2013 tier bonuses?
(Except if you made a different choice of benefits, of course.)
Yes. Bonuses have always been calendar year. This is the first year with the two month status block out though.
Are you sure about that? Flight pass privileges have already been calendar year but given they haven't announced them yet for 2013 apparently this year 2012 selections will continue until February 28, 2013.

Not sure about flight pass bonuses, but would think it would be the same. I was referring to the option of extra miles for flights. Like status miles, they run from January to December. For example, when you qualify part way through the year they also go back to January.

I think I read on a previous post they stopped doing the retroactive miles bonuses last year. So if you hit early recognition, you would only get miles from that date and going forward.

You may well be right, but it may just be a start of year thing. I do seem to recall from years past that it can take 2-3 weeks for them to start posting these after the start of the year (even if you picked your benefits as early as possible). If nothing posts by end of January, you are no doubt correct.

There is a big difference between not giving retroactive credit for someone who qualified early, and someone who actually qualified by flying the miles in the previous year.
For the past few years AC would not provide retroactive credit for those who qualified after March of the year, but would always provide retoractive credit for people who flew in January/February but did not have their new status at the time of their flights.
I've always been very skeptical of the information in the post you've quoted. It wouldn't be the first time an AC employee (at an airport or otherwise) provided incorrect information. If it were correct, I'm sure that it would be shown on the 2012 Top Tier page or the 2013 Altitude page; it is not. Information still shows tier and flight pass bonuses based on calendar year.
Plus, this page has been updated throughout the year. For example, the page was updated to reflect bmi's withdrawl from *A.
Under "Select Priviliges" on then link above (underlining mine):

Regardless of what was posted on Twitter, I'd be very surprised if there were no retroactive credit for tier and flight pass bonuses once select priviliges are made.
