terrible karma

Going j class to the middle east vancouver calgary london etc I had a thrre hour layover in Calgary. The flight left late due to bags being loaded so we had an agent RUN with us to our gate in London. Get to destination. One bag arrives heavelydamged half contents gone, and the other one doesn`t arrive. Call area agent she says have to make clim in airport. Xmas day no english speakers. What do do? Make online claim for lost goods and late bag. Bag comes next day split down side but contents intact.

Coming back j class both bags MIA. Might come tomorrow. Plane late again so even a 2 hour window not enough

Calgary airport lost 25 j class bags going. London on the way back. Was doing xmas and a wedding so needed luggage.

This is bad karma.

Air
Canada says We aren`t happy until you are unhappy.

Note even if an agent tells you to don`t try to open luggage in middle east airport soilders come running.

So where did you fly to in the Middle East from LHR? LHR to Middle East is not on an Air Canada plane, so I'm not sure what that has got to do with Air Canada?

Ac 6526. All an air canada ticket. That`s why. Look it up and know your facts. AC all the way. Codeshare but AC responsible. Even they admit that. The problem apparently (and maybe this is deflectibg blame) is that they don`t use their own people in LHR of course this ignores the fact one bag was left in Calgary.

In the instance of codeshare flights it is the operating carrier who is responsible for any lost bag reports or damage not the ticketed carrier.

You probably should clarify who actually was operating the flights and which segment the bags went missing.

perhaps post something where facts match the complaint, which segment/operator failed etc

You can't blame code share seller for failure of the actual airline providing the service or lack there of.

has anyone dealt with baggage claims?

I am having trouble understanding why they need all the faxed info including my ID? and why do they make a claim so difficult when they can see they were in error on their system? Is there a better way than through baggage claims?

I would appricate some suggestions

Why would you say this? The poster does know their facts. They stated it wasn't AC metal.

Karma does seem to work.

BEY airport... Why am I not surprised? With so many reports of theft there, not sure why OP is surprised half the content of one of the bags was missing...

Because you are making a claim. They ask for ID to prevent fraud. They are not just going to hand out money or compensation just because someone asks for it without proof of who they are dealing with.

The OP had numerous bad experiences with AC before, so why would you fly "AC" again?

air canada public relation and customer service sucks

Also considering it looks like they have made a baggage claim before I am not sure why the process is a surprise to them.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Unless this a new procedure for a baggage claim issue, I have never been asked for ID to be sent in order to receive some compensation in either the form of an Air Canada cheque or other compensation.

To the posters who blame the OP for not knowing the ins and outs of who baggage compensation should work, cmon. While, yes, AC 6526 is not an AC-operated flight and the final responsibility for the claim should be with MEA as its their flight, I have had personal experience where the baggage handlers in YYC have sent a container of J baggage to either the wrong destination or not sent it at all. I think that is what the OP was trying to say is that the problem was that bags werent even loaded to LHR little own make the between LHR terminals run over to MEA to begin with. The problem was AC, period.

As far as BEY being a regular problem with baggage, I have only been thru BEY 4 times and with Star Alliance carriers and never had an issue whatsoever.
