Strange (bad) behavior by an Elite

YYC security, last flight for me for the year, eager to get home for the holidays. Went through the nexus line and had my laptop bag on the table removing my laptop. Another elite came through the other priority line, barged in and placed her luggages ahead of mine on the table. Obviously she didnt understand that her elite tag only gets her through the first part of the line.

She kind of gave me that "I dare of to say something type of glance". I started to get annoyed but she is an older lady and I noticed her elite tag so I bit my tongue. 10 min. later and I am still stuck at security because of her, I was pissed, almost said something to her once we were inside the MLL.

I also had thought that she may have been in a hurry to catch a flight until we walked into the MLL together and she was still there sipping wine when I left to catch my flight.

Here is a list of things why I question her behavior as strange for a elite flyer:

- She had long tight boots with like 5 steel buckles on each side which took her 5 min. to remove, anyone who flies frequently knows not to wear stuff like that.
- She had one roller carryon, one oversized laptop bag and one supersized purse, does any frequent flyer really have 3 oversized carryons?
- She forgot to remove her laptop until she was asked and took her forever to fish out her laptop and ipad... what more need to be said?
- She had thick coat, jacket, scarf, gloves... took forever for her to undress and redress at security; of course she refused to move her stuff until she finished redressing forcing the line to completely stop
- She had a can of hairspray and a butane powered curler in her carryon, really? Pressurized butane on airplanes? The shocking part is that she argued that they were almost empty and the security lady let them through
- Her perfume stank to high heaven, okay nothing wrong here just not very considerate for whoever has to sit beside her on the plane.

Question of the day, how can anyone who travel enough to be elite to not know the basic of being a good traveller.

PS: Merry Christmas to all of the FTers, thank you for everything you have taught me this year.

You should not put up with this.

This was a case for nicely saying, "Excuse me, didn't you notice that there is a line here?" And point to the end of the line. Or even ask her if she has a Nexus card.

Or in the worst case scenario, talk to the TSA person.

The thing is, people do these things because they know they get away with it. They should not.

Sounds like someone I know well.
Strides into court, and anywhere else for that matter, with a don't **** with me attitude. It works. God bless her.

The enemy of the Ligaments of Cooper since time immemorial.

She will find people less and less willing to put up with her nonsense each succeeding day.

I, for one, generally accept those dares.

Earlier this week saw some selfish clown parking his luxury vehicle in a handicapped spot outside a LCBO store...no handicapped sticker of course...and he gave me one of those "I dare you to say something bovine looks".

I did not disappoint him...his only excuse was he "was only going to be a few minutes". People like him, and the woman you refer to, are selfish oafs who expect everyone else to be quiet and acquiesce to them. I don't play that game any more.
