Flights operated by Air Canada rouge

NOTE: Rouge Wifi information can be found here
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...l#post28448087

Dates in brackets indicate planned start of rouge service (either as a new route or replacing mainline service). ML placed before a date indicates the date that service is reverting to mainline.

All Airbus A319/A321 service is in the new Premium Rouge configuration with 2x2J seats. All other routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in a 24J/258Y layout.

Airport codes in blue indicate that these routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft for all services.
Airport codes in red indicate that these routes are split between Boeing 767-300ER and Airbus services.
Airport codes in black indicate that these routes are Airbus aircraft for all services.

Routes are organized based on the established rouge bases of YYZ, YUL, YYC, and YVR

Except this time with a half-a**ed launch.

Wireless streaming of movies and more, direct to your personal electronic device. Final program details and pricing will be communicated prior to first flight in July 2013.
This sounds to me like in lieu of seatback screens. This sounds like an IT nightmare, and looks like they're going to charge for it.

Hopefully AC continues to ignore YEG and Rouge doesn't find its way out here.

Based on the livery they've published, with the *A logo next to the cockpit, I assume that Rouge will be part of *A.

So, if it is their LCC, what does the other C stand for ? Leisure Carrier C (or Leisure C Carrier)?
Isn't cost the airline's cost, not necessarily the consumers?

I can see this streaming service going system wide and tied in with MLL tiered service.

Makes sense sell you media access while you wait and in the air. Probably be a perk for "Altitude" members, depending on your status.

Will save them a a lot of money when they pull the IFE and offer streaming and probably include an iPad for J, charge/rent in Y

Smart business move

No. It means lower fares and fewer amenities with a la carte fees for many items (baggage, food, advanced seat selection, priority boarding, etc.).

Edit: now after searching I've found both definitions...........

They should do the max config of the A380 on YYZLHR as rouge.

853 seats or something like that...

Another enhancement of Rouge seems to be no more free alcoholic beverages on flights to Europe. Makes sense, but let´s hope it´s not a precedent for all routes.

Rouge, eh? Bet they didn't realise that "rouge" is also the proper name for a "single point" scored in Canadian football (ie the booby prize when you miss the field goal but still manage to dribble the ball out the back of the endzone).

Some might call that a wholly appropriate coincidence.

What in the world does "same plane" mean? How is a 211-seat 767 the same as a 260 seat 767?

What, exactly, is your position?

At worst, Rouge will lose less money on these leisure routes than AC mainline would have. At worst.

At best, they will eek out profit while hitting TS and other competitors where it hurts.

Guess all the armchair CEOs here think it's best to fly the exact 767 to Athens, Venice and EDI that you send to GRU, FRA and LHR.

All destinations are not created equal.

At the end of the day it costs the same to fly a 767 from YYZ to ATH regardless the number of passengers...that is what I'm talking about.

Sure they may get a bit more revenue by cramming it with all Y and not having a J cabin that doesn't sell well.
