AC 870 late tonight , Industrial action within airline?

Just received the notification that my AC 871 CDG-YUL flight tomorrow is delayed. The incoming aircraft is back to the gate in YUL. Departure from YUL is delayed by 5 hours or so and KVS show the following

YUL 01:45 ESTIMATED TIME OF DEPARTURE
YUL PLANE IS LATE IN HOURS MINUTES
YUL INDUSTRIAL ACTION WITHIN AIRLINE
CDG 14:29 ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL

I am curious what Industrial action within airline means??
First time I see this.

The plane being back at the gate I guess departure is still not fully confirmed

Any news what happened?

As I mentioned not sure why KVS is showing "Industrial Action" When its a maintenance issue.

And for more info on what the bleed issue is - http://www.skybrary.aero/index.php/Bleed_Air_Leaks

"Industrial Action" is code for an employee strike, which does not appear to be the case here.

Would "Industrial Action" mean that AC doesnt have to pay the EU compensation for the delay

Thanks. Still don't really understand what it all means. But maybe that's why there are engineers (including my son)

Looks like AC had changed the reason code on AC 870, but have used a slightly different one on AC 871:

I still say this is EU261 shenanigans, so AC can get out of paying delay compensation

Such a delay does not, however, entitle passengers to compensation if the air carrier can prove that the long delay was caused by extraordinary circumstances which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken, namely circumstances beyond the actual control of the air carrier.

Ferrying an aircraft seems a little extreme if your theory is correct. No?

My theory is that they did not want to list MECHANICAL as the reason so they dont have to pay out. Ferrying an aircraft only supports the fact it was mechanical not "industrial action"

Where did AC claim "industrial action"? Other than in your head that is.

"and KVS show the following" is the basis for your theory?
