15K Short of SE

What would the best option be for a mileage run to make 15K miles remembering there is a 50% bonus going on, also would like to upgrade if possible and make it as short as possible.

I don't know the fares, but PEK, PVG, NRT, would all give you the 15K and you could do it in a weekend. They might be easier to u/g too. Otherwise it's two TATLs, or several TransCons.

Is SE really worth it? Won't 75K Elite be enough?

YYZ-SCL will do it with the change to spare if you get the 50% bonus. If flexible and pick your dates, up-grades are generally available. 777 service this time of year. Red-eye both directions. Fly down, spend the day in Santiago (its balmy there) fly back the next night. You do have to pay a reciprocity tax of 130$US that is good for the life of your passport.

I happen to be flying there tonight.

TLV might be another good option for you now that the rockets have died down for a while.

I am in a similar quandry. 18,000 miles short of SE.

I can fly MUC-YYZ-LAX over a weekend on AC to retain SE with the TATL bonus. About $1400.

Benefits are an extra ~50 eupgrade credits (which will all be used TATL) plus front of the line status, plus the extra 25% miles bonus versus E75.

You gonna need more than MUC-YYZ-LAX to hit 18K:

MUC-YYZ with 50%= ~12400 r/t
YYZ-LAX= ~4350 r/t

Total= ~16750 r/t

There is no 50% promo on transborders.

I'm in same boat as EuroRob. I'm 17,650 short of SE. I've been E the last 4 years never SE.

I'm starting in YYZ.

I've booked a weekend with spouse in Vancouver. Will get her to E75 and me 750 miles short of SE. I've booked an ovenight trip to Warsaw on LOT to make up the balance. I was a little less than 18,000 short to SE.

That is a lot of miles to get on a MR. I just did YYZ LHR and got the 50% status bonus which helped me get some more e ups for going over 140k. Go to london for the weekend (worth 10k) and check out the Bronze exhibit at the Royal Academy of Art, incredible. Ends dec. 9.

Try flying out of USA via Canada to do TATL/TPAL

I know you'll get a better deal flying out of the US via a Cdn hub to EU or Asia, maybe that'll help since transborder minimum you get 500 miles for that 1 segment. Paying for a one-way flying out of YYZ/YUL/YVR shouldn't be too costly.

If you have time, consider a round-the-world itinerary, can clock you >20,000 miles easily plus 50% bonus on AC metal.

RTW is minimum 29000 miles in J and requires 10 days away plus a minimum of 4 stopovers. Cost is north of 14,000 if purchased in Canada. For that price OP can get SE this year AND next year. A mileage run would be a better option.
