AC/AE and others making lots of money this weekend

A lot of flights are full, coming from Calgary and surrounding areas, to the centre of the universe. It's not just AC/AE but others who fly to near Toronto, Hamilton, Kitchener, etc. The airlines are making a killing.

It's good for those that place so much importance on riding horses, to see civilization this weekend in Toronto.

I don't usually watch football, but hey we'll welcome the cowboys and cowgirls to civilization.

Party politics has nothing to do with this. We do have a Conservative mayor here.

I did live in Calgary before. My son works in Calgary now. So when he was flying back to Kitchener (for a wedding) a few days ago, he was on a Westjet flight full of Stampeders, a raunchy bunch. They couldn't get a flight directly to civilization, so anywhere near is good for them.

I don't think he realizes you are just talking some Grey Cup smack.

Well it's like this I lost my sense of humour on comments like "civilization" being only in Central Canada sometime between NEP and when the last arrogant Liberal prime minster was elected

go figure.

I am cheering for the Argos, go Ricky Ray. Besides cheering Calgary, hard to impossible for someone from Edmonton to do

Being from Toronto I take the crap I hear out in Western Canada for what I hope it really is. Just some regional ribbing. I find the most anti-Toronto stuff in Alberta and BC comes from people who are originally from Ontario.

+1 Calgary is full of "holier than thou" transplants from 416 area code, over the top trying to be more "western" then people who were born or lived here all their lives.

embarrassing, especially during stampede week, they buy cowboy hats and boots and act like idiots.

I've never heard more BS than listening to Ontarians turned BC/AB residents espouse their thoughts on how great it is to be from "the West", with the lifestyle and the weather advantages, blah blah. Funny though, since this is the attitude that the rest of Canada attributes to the "centre of the universe" crowd. My theory is that The majority of Ontarians who are not jerks and are just like the rest of Canadians banished them and they ended up having to move.

Not to paint all of those that have migrated west with this brush, but the few are making it tough for the many. Remember, we all really come from Saskatchewan in the beginning, Haha.

Go Riders!

Well, a few things happened in the last few days.

Argos won the Grey cup. The crowds that pour onto the streets in celebration, were well behaved, and did not cause any issue. No violence, no burned cars, no broken windows.

The Conservative mayor of Toronto got removed from office, for violating the Conflict of Interest Rule. He didn't help his own case by stating that he did not read the rules, did not attend the orientation session for councillors to learn the rules, and felt the rules did not apply to him.

The parade to celebrate the Argos win, was also smooth. Well behaving crowd, no violence, no burning cars, no broken windows.

Quite a contrast to what happened in the west.

Really good for those westerners to come to the centre of the universe, and see what civilization is about.
