How to transfer points from Marriott rewards?

I have 30k Marriott points I'd like to transfer to aeroplan. My profile on Marriott is accurate, and after searching I finally found the transfer page - but when I try to transfer it has "Alabama" under State/Prov and gives me an error message. No provinces are available in the drop down list.

Has anyone run into this?

Also have tried to find how to transfer and was unable to on Marriott's website.

One Mile at a Time blogger points to transfer through the Travel Packages, but if I read it correctly you need 200,000 points to give you 50,000 aeroplan and 7 nights at Cat 1-5: http://www.marriott.com/rewards/usepoints/morepack.mi

Cruban, also trying in vain.

They said AP transfers usually take 1-2 weeks

I'll either call them today or tomorrow as soon as I have a chance. It was not easy to find but there is a page on the site where you can do this. The problem is somehow my address is not correct (only on that page) and Provinces are not available in the drop down box.

I did it online, had to navigate quite a bit. Took about 2 weeks to show in my account.

Is your address correct in your member profile?
I just saw what you meant, try changing it within the member profile and not during step 2 in the redemption process. If all else fails call in.

On another note I tried to transfer into the wife's account but it would not let me "Submit", despite repeatedly trying to click the button. Anybody have success transferring into another member's account???
Gonna call in and try to do it over the phone tomorrow.

How many Aeroplans did you get for the 30,000 Marriott rewards? Has anyone that's transferred think this is worthwhile? I've found that generally 30,000 will get you about $300 in equivalent hotel stays...doesn't seem worth it to transfer to Aeroplan...

= 10,000 points. I needed the points for my trip, so was worth it for me. Good deal overall from Marriotts, 1st year fee waived, free cert for 1 night stay and 10,000 aeroplan points. Got the 50,000 offer after I signed up but Marriotts did not want to top up.

Yeah, it's a kick a$$ card, if you ask me (esp. for noforex fees and annual free night cert). Too bad about the 50,000 - I missed that promo, anyway. My free night and 30,000 are already spoken for, but still *thinking* of transferring the 30,000 to AE because of the bonus...

I had the same problem: Address in my profile is correct (says QC), when I get to the part in the transfer tool where I have to confirm my address there are only US states in the dropdown even with Canada selected. Sent support an email, got a completely clueless canned answer that did not even relate to my problem, gave up.

If they can't be bothered to code a website properly in 2012 for such a simple task, I can't be bothered to use my card. will burn all the points and certificate with free nights and then cancel. No way you should have to waste time on the phone for this.

There's tons of examples where Canadian addresses are not supported on websites that include Canadian customers, and then workarounds are needed...I don't think this is exclusive to Marriott. Us Canadians always manage to get the shaft somehow...

If I did not need the points at that time, I would of waited for AE transfer promo. I got an email offer for the 50,000 points after I applied, gave my email address and was approved for the 30,000 point offer, which I found rather amusing. I think Best Western has a similar deal, but I have not looked into as of yet.

I got the 50,000 from BW - plus a $60 cash rebate from Great Canadian Rebates - that was pretty sweet! Was able to get 3 free nights out of that one! Nice!

Oh those dirty little buggers...I got the EXACT same email just this afternoon (the 50,000 offer) - exactly 2 weeks after I applied for the card. I guess Marriott sends that out to those people that sign up for the program, but they're likely signing up because they're applying for the card.

I wonder how many requests Marriott gets to top up the bonus to 50,000 to honor the email? I am guessing none...did you try?
