YYC MR

Looking to do a mileage run to hit E50. Need 7050 miles. With the current 50% bonus on T+ and up i am thinking about this.

Leaving from YYC prefer weekend only (friday pm-sun) or potentially leaving Dec 28 (would need the 7050miles in the one directions).

Hoping you can find me something cheap. Offering MLL passes to lowest bid.

Thank you.

50% bonus only applies to int'l AC flights (the promotion doesn't consider much of NA as int'l).

If you only need 7000ish, I doubt you'd be using the 50% bonus on your MR. A one way to anywhere int'l from YYC should rack up at least 7k. A round trip would be looking at almost hitting 15k. Unless your goal isn't to barely squeak by 7050 or you were only looking for a one way ticket...

Have you hit your AC metal minimum; i.e. does the flight have to be on AC? UA/US would probably end up being a cheaper option, if you're OK on AC metal miles.

YYC-LAS (the long way on UA)

Example:
Outbound on Dec 4
YYC-ORD-IAH-LAS
Inbound on Dec 5
LAS-SFO-ORD-YYC

Cost: C$412
EQM: 7,263
CPM: 5.67

Found on ITA.

There are a few variations of YYC-ORD-xxx-LAS-xxx-ORD-YYC flight that I could see via the ITA for around 5.67 to 7 cpm. Most, if not all, optimal selections require an overnight in LAS. Personally, that's not a bad place to do MR and stay overnight. I booked one of these variations through united.ca

Agreeded that LAS on UA is the most painfull (cheap) way to go!

Other possible destinations would include MCO/FLL; however I dont think you would get up to 7k with these.

And I was right :

Quote:
YYC-MCO (requires overnight) via IAD/IAH 5325 total miles for 535$

What's the 50% bonus on Intl T+ fares? Don't see that on the AC Web site?

I'd booked a short weekend trip/MR for YYC-LHR on T+ fares for about $1250, so a bit pricier than the other options, but a decent weekend option.

Great find.
How about 9338 miles for ~ $478
YYC-SFO-EWR-MIA-EWR-SFO-YYC
(may require overnight in Miami).

thanks for all the support. I have hit my AC minimums. There are some great options in here. Goal is to squeek over 50,000 miles for the least amount of cost getting the 7050.

Anyone care to join?

Personaly I would be looking at maximising my time on a beach :P

You can add a few extra legs, but wont get much (if anything in extra miles)

Example

Quote:
Calgary (YYC) to Honolulu (HNL) - Sat, Dec 8
Calgary (YYC) to San Francisco (SFO) - Sat, Dec 8
United 6273 Dep: 7:18AM Arr: 9:25AM 3h 7m Canadair RJ 700 Economy (L)
OPERATED BY SKYWEST DBA UNITED EXPRESS Layover in SFO 3h 34m

San Francisco (SFO) to Los Angeles (LAX) - Sat, Dec 8
United 1178 Dep: 12:59PM Arr: 2:26PM 1h 27m Boeing 737 Economy (L)
Layover in LAX 2h 41m

Los Angeles (LAX) to Honolulu (HNL) - Sat, Dec 8
United 1425 Dep: 5:07PM Arr: 9:03PM 5h 56m Boeing 757 Economy (L)

Honolulu (HNL) to Calgary (YYC) - Sat, Dec 8
Honolulu (HNL) to San Francisco (SFO) - Sat, Dec 8
United 396 Dep: 9:49PM Arr: 4:46AM 4h 57m Boeing 777 Economy (L)
Layover in SFO Sun, Dec 9 3h 22m

San Francisco (SFO) to Calgary (YYC) - Sun, Dec 9
United 6348 Dep: 8:08AM Arr: 11:49AM 2h 41m Canadair RJ 700 Economy (L)
OPERATED BY SKYWEST DBA UNITED EXPRESS

Cost per passenger (including taxes & fees) CA$572.56
Total cost for 1 passenger CA$572.56

Mileage•7316 total miles

Of course you would get min mileage of 500 versus the 337 on the lax sfo
I would also stick to flying SFO and using the 777 versus the older 757 and the 737 also from SFO.

Check out the matrix and play around with it a bit.You can also add in a YEG leg if you wish, but again you dont get much in terms of extra miles. Just more time in flight and transit that you could use to relax on a beach for an afternoon :P
