I just checked in at YYT for 695 (to YYZ), which is running 1:45 late today (departing at 18:00 instead of 16:15, with inbound aircraft scheduled to arrive at 17:25). I have a connection on 880 to CDG, departing at 20:15. 695 is scheduled to arrive YYZ at 20:00. Even though I have no bags, I can't see making that connection it's not like I can saunter to the adjacent gate. Nevertheless, the agent at YYT said there was a note on the file not to rebook. She further said something along the lines of "You just might make it. Otherwise, there should be a Concierge to meet you when you arrive with alternate arrangements. Haven't used concierge services before.
Any speculation (based on your past experiences) on how this might unfold. I'm really hoping to make it to CDG tomorrow!
Looking forward to feedback as I twiddle my thumbs for the next two hours.
If they think you can make it and concierge will meet you at the gate (actually either way they will) .. If you can make it, they'll prob drive you over to the gate crazy style.. If not, the concierge is likely monitoring it and will rebook you as best they can and meet you at the gate with your new boarding passes..
At least that's how I think it'll play out.. Good luck and report back!

A further question - I have a confirmed upgrade on 880. Where would I be positioned relative to others on the u/g waitlist if I am rebooked to another flight?
Sitting in the YYT MLL watching the fog roll in over Torbay and hoping the inbound aircraft is able to land.
I would get on the horn with the Concierge now. They know your issue but it would be better to chat with them, make sure you are in control of what is going on.
15 minutes for a Domestic-International Connection at YYZ?? Impossible, you could easily lose 15 minutes on boarding, take off delays, get a far runway in YYZ. I would have called the concierge or the SE line and asked them what they where smoking...
And even if they have rebooked you via LHR/FRA, this is wasted time, increased transit time, and potential for a lost upgrade. Pretty .... deal to me. Why didnt you try and get on 667 Dept 14:05 (YHZ/YUL) and then onwards to YYZ, or 127 the 12:05 to YYZ?
Or you could have done
AC667 14:05 16:48 E90 1 Montreal (YUL)
AC870 19:55 08:45 + 1 day 77W
Thanks for the advice. I called the concierge. Am protected (in economy) on 876 to FRA, with a Lufthansa flight onward to CDG. Concierge said upgrade chances look "pretty good" on 876. We'll see.

My guess is, they plan to hold the flight for the OP.
Doubtful - unless half the YYT flgiht is connecting to CDG. SE's are not seen as being more important than an on-time departure.
... but it is actually much better to be kept on your original flight and be protected on the later one - otherwise if the other flight is delayed and you are able to make the connection you might not get back on your original flight and would almost certainly lose the upgrade.
Aboard 695 for a late departure. Still not sure if I am on the waitlist for an upgrade on 876. The concierge said i would be, but my online booking shows not (but it does show the Frankfurt booking in Latitude and asks for another 6 e-upgrade credits to be waitlisted.
Will be interesting to see if there is a concierge on arrival - the one I spoke to said she didn't have many available tonight, whatever that means.

why cant you be both on you original flight and protected+waitlisted for upgrade on a later flight... any other airline can do it that way.....
