Question Trying to get a hold of the SE Desk for Academic

Hi all,

This is Academic's daughter. He's in the air right now and had asked if I could check him in to help him get his eUpgrade. But unfortunately Air Canada is asking for his passport information, which I don't have. Since I don't have his passport information, I'm hoping I can call the SE desk and see if they'll let me check him in without it. (I've tried looking on the website for both his Aeroplan and Air Canada accounts, and cannot find it).

I was hoping someone might be able to PM me the number for the SE desk so I can help him out?

I realise this is an unusual request, but I'd be grateful (and I know he would be too) if he can get his upgrade for a long transatlantic flight...)

Unfortunately, there is no way to check in without passport info...

Your dad will have to do it when he lands!

I can vouch for the identity of the poster and the authenticity of the request. We go back a long time. They've even had me to there home for dinner.

So it's not a scam.

And don't you feel so much safer because of it?

Can you not just use the upgrade request option? Why Fi you need to checkin for the upgrade to clear?

I'm not well-versed in Aeroplan upgrade protocols, so I'm not sure. I guess there isn't much I can do, though. Thanks for your help, everyone! (And for vouching for me, Ken).

Yes, I have done it before. once I did OLCI, I forgot my passport expiry date. I made it up. Then correct it at check-in when I arrived at the airport.

So just make up some passport number and expiry date. Have your dad call concierge or speak to the GA when he lands to correct it.

Thanks. I've got the numbers now and I'll give the concierge and the SE desk a call. I really appreciate everyone's help.

Wow!!!

What an amazing sense of community. I didn't expect academic_daughter to go so far. And I hadn't realised that I had other options. I'm on an EK 380 flight right now that has full wi-fi, so I was able to pass along the information and to make sure that I was checked in.

Thanks Kid.
