I haven't tried it but it should be a great product. But transiting through the US, maybe not for me.
Are the new F suites like the 77W's suites that TG has?

Seating wise, the seats are not as good as some of the airlines out there (LX, TG 77W suites, even UA's new F seat) and the IFE is somewhat lacking IMO.

Service on the other hand, is second to none.

Unless it is a huge inconvenience, go OZ F.

i wont rely on those sources, they've been swapping equipment time and time again...... as per seat guru, there are 4 versions of 772 that Asiana operates, 3 of which does not have first class.

they promised (as advertised) the newest J product on LAX-ICN and ended up with the old stuff.

reading past people's experience, Asiana is less willing to budge if the Class of Service has been downgraded due to equipment change

Thumbs up Called Asiana last night

They are using the new 777 config on this flight all 8 seats in first are booked
Also all 8 seats are booked on the incoming from Icn-ord so I doubt that they will change planes unless they use a 747

It's a week away

The seat, yes. Layout is true F.

The food, no, even within its rightful category of cafeteria food.

The FAs are either too frail, or too busy chatting with their passenger colleagues to do anything useful.

I NEVER said that UA's 4 cross seating in Biz was any good! if I'm flying on one of their 777, 763, 747, I will only sit on the aisle side.

The suite itself is excellent. As far as the FA's go, I would agree for the most part, even though it can be hit or miss. In terms of the food, it's at little better than cafeteria (-;

As an FYI, I have pretty much stopped flying United on all international routes*. I am holding to reward tickets from SFO to Sydney next April in F class.

*my new airline of choice for international has become LH. The only issue with LH is how to connect in Munich so I can avoid the debacle of Frankfurt.

Now, now, be gentle. We were all once doe-eyed newcomers to the wonders of Asian F class!

jaded newcomer?

thanks all for the newbie comments LOL

in the past 3 years

I have had the following first class aeroplan awards

MIA-FRA(3) LH
MIA-ZRH(1) LX
FRA-DTW (2)LH
DUS-YYZ(2)LH
LAX-SIN(1)SIN
FRA-BKK(2)THAI
PVG-FRA(1) Air China rivals USAIR for Worlds Worst A Class

My question was because I had never used Asiana before and my last Asian experience was Air China which sucked.

And although Air canada executive first is business class it is still really good compared to most other business class especially to Europe and Asia.

I have flown LH business and Thai business and Air Canada is superior.

Thanks all for your help and comments looking forward to Asiana

I was downgraded once in F on OZ (AP Ticket, FRA-ICN) due to equipment change.

I got hotel, $75 Meal voucher (Covered Dinner, Breakfast and Lunch, all meals were excellent), and $300 cash to go next day. Cash amount not so EU standard, but I'm on AP award ticket, OZ probably had little option, and it paid off the YQ & fees of the ticket. I was a happy man.
