NEW: Seat selection For bookings made elsewhere than on aircanada.com

Coming soon…

If you booked your flight with a travel agent or on another website, you will soon be able to select your seat online. We are currently working on this new feature and are hoping to make it available within the next few days.

Please check back with us later

Eureka! Do you think that they hired new IT guys or that the existing crew finally figured it out? This will save me many phone calls to the Elite line.

On GDS it's already possible...
9V/S(segment number)/(desired seat number)

I wonder if this was inspired by the lack of businesses using the business rewards program due to the lack of this feature.

Only on PNRs created by your host.... not something donE by expedia for example. And there are 4 different GDS systems, they don't all use the Apollo format of 9V or 9S.

This is a good enhancement if Lise can pull it off

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9790; en-GB) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.1.0.336 Mobile Safari/534.11+)

Seems starnge to announce this feature before it's ready to go....

I like this a lot!!! Compnay forces us to book through travel agent (and most times on their website we are unable to select AC seats). This is most welcome!

I would hope so. The iPhone app already lets you select for AE bookings.

But only those booked on aeroplan.com, not those booked through an agent over the phone.

How about showing bookings in 1 spot on the AC web site regardless of where they are made? I currently have to check 4 places for my bookings, even though they're all through official AC channels:

- AC site bookings page
- AC site flight pass bookings page
- Aeroplan bookings page
- bookings made by an AC agent over phone (must enter PNR manually)

Particularly since all your itineraries regardless of booking channel (presumably) already have your AE number. Sigh.
