it's not just an underage SE, an underage E would not be able to enter the lounge either
Hey Jan, I know you mentioned the Concierge said they can't overrule the lounge agent, but were they willing to supervise you for 15 minutes and escort you into the lounge?

i support OP's cause.....and the top tier program should make provisions for underaged Es and SEs....... perhaps zone of an area....or read them the riot act about no alcohol consumption or give them coupons/meal vouchers to somewhere else at the airport
however, like others have stated....... hitting on local liquor laws wont get you far...... its not an AC decision but a law imposed by the government.....its almost like showing $1M and insisting you want to go to an adult only bar........
interestingly enough, i hear some underaged can get into the AMEX/Priority Pass lounge in YYZ and YVR unsupervised? or is that just a rumor?

The Aeroplan website clearly says this privilege is subject to the terms and conditions of the lounge. You are not owed anything because you don't meet the t & c's. As I said though, it would be nice if you were offered an alternate amenity but you are not owed one.

What a muddled thread. The airline is doing nothing wrong and owes the OP nothing.
Jan, your letter should have been written to the government, not AC. Or make a time machine, go back into Canadian history, and convert everyone to atheism.
AC would consider it an utter catastrophe to lose its liquor license for one of its lounges. Even if you flew a million miles a year in paid J, it would not be worth it for them.

I own licensed establishment in New Brunswick. My license does not allow minors in unless accompanied by their legal guardian, namely parent or of-age spouse.
Not sure if the MLL has a similar type of license, but if they do, then the OP's beef is with provincial legislators.
As much as I like to bash AC too, this time they may not be able to legally accommodate him.

You can probably count on several hands the number of SE and E pax that are old enough to travel alone but too young to meet alcohol laws. Not exactly a high priority on the AC lounge-improvement agenda I would think.

This conversation has veered all the way off track. SE is a loyalty programme. Key word loyalty. I think it'll be up to AC to decide how important my loyalty is to them and what they'd like to do. I am 100% prepared that I still won't be able to access the MLLs. I'd just like a suitable alternative or compensation. I think we can all agree that's fair?
