It would help if every member could take a moment to ensure they are posting in the correct thread. This one is meant to be only for listing valid booked mini-RTW itineraries and not questions about booking mini-RTW which belong in this thread:

Newer members who are just coming to find the whole topic are likewise encouraged to read and pose their questions in this thread:

Call AP to make the change to that one leg only but they want to add $305 in aeroscams.

Is this a hard policy or a case for HUCA?
That depends.

1) did you have some "pending" changes that they "forgot" to recalculate?
2) are you adding a segment with YQ on it? (doesn't look so)
3) does MLE have some insane taxes or something? (use matrix.itasoftware.com to price JUST that segment)
4) did you fly any part of the itinerary already?

Aeroplan is usually fairly competent on tax calculation, so HUCA does not work too often, unless they are really screwing the pooch here.

If your ticket is J and you paid with points accordingly, there are no charges for changing to J. But then I don't know that much, see what difference the AP site tell you from Y to J

I had an involuntary schedule change that I suggested a reroute for.
Because of the sched change, I think they're collecting for segments that they shouldn't be because those are the reroute segments. They should only collect for SIN-MLE.

Nice! ^

What did it do to the taxes and fees? I assume the ones listed above were per person?

There is usually pretty good availability on BKK-FRA which is also on the A380 and would eliminate CDG entirely, did you check that out?

Nice routing, lots of LH $$$ but should be a nice trip!

On Sunday, to distract ourselves from the snowstorm we had in YYC, we booked next year's vacation to southern Thailand. It's not a RTW, its a there and back again the long way, which is longer than our last miniRTW.

YYC - SFO UA J CR7
SFO - FRA UA F 744 (hopefully switch to LH F, will be in heaven if we get the LH F beds again)
FRA - BKK TG F A380 (3rd A380 F flights, SQ and TG)
BKK - HDY TG J A320 (main turnaround)
HDY - BKK TG J A320 (stopover)
BKK - ZRH TG F A346 (midnight departure so a long lounge/spa visit prior)
ZRH - FRA LH J A319
FRA - ORD UA F 744 (hopefully switch to LH F)
ORD - YYC UA J A319

210K AE miles and $802.91 in taxes, each. Plus hopefully another $90 + taxe$ to change to LH F if they open anything up. After this years Y trip for $1800 each, we are totally OK with this.

BKK - FRA TG F A380 (same midnight departure but direct to FRA)
FRA - ORD UA F 744 (hopefully switch to LH F)
ORD - YYC UA J A319

The 2 bold flights are now replaced by the single green flight. Now we wait months for LH to release F seats close to our departure/return, so we can dump the UA's and spend some time in the FCL/FCT.

Well, well. Apparently, agent lottery still works. Helped a friend book:

- YUL-IST-CAI-BKK
- BKK-NRT
- NRT-IST-YUL

The return is over MPM5 by like ... half a universe. But I guess the agent saw a relatively simple routing and allowed it?

Just booked a last minute July/August ticket for a friend.

Availability on non-scamchargeable airlines was scarce to say the least

YYZ-IST-DEL (dest) TK J
DEL-IST (stopover) TK J
IST-SKG-JTR (stopover) TK/A3 J
JTR-ATH (23 hrs layover) A3 Y
ATH-BRU-LHR (overnight) A3/SN J
LHR-IAD-YYZ UA J

CAD326 in tax (no YQ)

There is only a sprinkle of TATL availability in mid-August. Literally almost the last seat. There was some LO seats to ORD/YYZ, as well as quite a lot of AC/LH.

Interestingly, not allowed to transfer ATH twice so DEL-IST-ATH-JTR/o/-ATH-YYZ didnt work. Had to do DEL-IST-SKG-JTR/o/-ATH-YYZ

I didn't book this itinerary but I found it interesting due to the far-east/tpac return:

Outbound over the Atlantic as expected:

YYZ-FRA AC in J
FRA-ADD ET in J
ADD-SEZ ET in J
----------

Return going to the far-east and Pacifc

SEZ-ADD ET in J
ADD-PEK ET in J
PEK-YYZ AC in J

Approximately $1150 in taxes and fees.

J for 3 pax

YVR-AC-YEG-UA-ORD-UA-BRU-LH-MUC-JP-LJU
LJU-TK-IST
IST-OZ-ICN-BR-TPE-BR-YVR

$412 each + $30

Even with IKK, I could only confirm 2 pax in J YVR-YEG.

A couple days later, I noticed one of the passengers names was spelled wrong. Called AE. A few days later I get a call back.....

YVR-AC-YYC-AC-FRA-LH-MUC-JP-LJU
LJU-TK-IST
IST-OZ-ICN-AC-YVR

No additional charges.
