Without me having to call Aeroplan, can anyone tell me how to calculate if a trip is within allowed mileage?
I am presently booked (with 120,000 first class points) on the following route:
YYJ-YVR-HKG-BKK (STOP)-FRA-MAN (STOP)-LHR-YVR-YYJ
My problem is the LHR-YVR sector is only available in economy.HOWEVER I can find first class space if I was allowed to fly LHR-LAX-(YVR-YYJ) ;or even business class for LHR-SFO-YYJ.
Would either of these alternative routes be allowed do you think?
Sorry, CPYVR, but that does not answer the question. I am already approved and booked for the route ending in MAN-LHR-YVR-YYJ, my question was "would I still be in mileage allowed if I changed to return from LHR via LAX or SFO to YYJ" The point being, I can get First or Business class on these routes, but only Economy on the present route from LHR-YVR.
Adding an LAX or SFO stop should be fine - you're still within the base MPM, and I think, from memory, you're allowed to go 5% over MPM for Aeroplan rewards?
I noticed there is a daily Air New Zealand service from LHR to LAX but no first class space available. Anybody seen F space show up last minute on this airline?

Not unless you convince them to buy a new plane just for you. IIRC NZ doesn't have any F service.

Canibus is correct .... NZ doesn't have F - only J. Just like AC. You will not find F on any AC flight.

Appreciate any help.
Both routings will work with a mileage break in BKK over either ocean.
YYJ-YVR-HKG-BKK (STOP)-FRA-MAN (STOP)-LHR-LAX-YVR-YYJ
or
YYJ-YVR-HKG-BKK (STOP)-FRA-MAN (STOP)-LHR-SFO-YYJ

Is it still 120K miles if its Business all over way?
I believe it's 100K if in J all the way for the itinerary above (*A carriers, no AC), unless AC metal is involved for the asia leg (115k?).
I am paying 120,000 pts. Exec. on AC to HKG; F on THai to BKK; F on Thai to FRA. Worth the extra pts. for the BKK arrival and lounge experience on departure!
