Kigali, Rwanada, Hotel sought

We need a hotel on both ends of a safari. It seems that Serena is recommended pretty much everywhere, but the new Marriott seems to be getting decent reviews. Any thoughts on the current top hotel? TIA.

I stayed at Gloria Hotel and thought is was good.

Good location, modern, no frills though.

I stayed at the Serena almost three years ago, so this info may be outdated. It was then the top-rated hotel in Kigali. Enjoyed my stay very much. Extremely friendly staff who can arrange car/driver/day trip/the works. Try to book a high floor, pool view. The Marriott is just down the street and looked close to completion then, but it just opened two months ago. Either place is probably a safe bet, but expect to pay at least $250-$300/night (unless you have Marriott points) and see lots of tour groups.

Heaven Restaurant in Kigali is quite good. A bit touristy, but good.

same. not every room has AC, but that really shouldn't be an issue here.

The brand new Radisson Blu looks pretty nice. I'll be staying there in December.

Thank you, I hope you will report back on it. I did hear that the new Marriott is a beautiful facility but
still needs time to get the service up to snuff.

Yes, it's a very famous hotel and I'm sure I've posted about it here if you search. It's been a few years since I was last there so I don't know the latest.
