Is this enough time to get from DAR to Zanzibar ferry?
I will be landing at DAR at 1:50pm from Qatar and attempting to get on a 3:45pm ferry from Dar Es Salaam to Zanzibar. Assuming I have no checked luggage and get a visa before I travel (no need to wait on visa on arrival queue), should I be able to get through the border, into a cab and onto the ferry in enough time? If not, do you have any suggestion? I think this is the last ferry of the day. Thanks!

1. As I originally asked is this enough time to get to the ferry or is that off the table no matter what?
2. Can people with experience tell me about Precision? I am hesitant to fly a tiny African airline even if it is a short hop.

I have flown Precision Air many times. It is safe and reliable. It is over 40 percent owned by Kenya Airways, if that helps you any.
I don't know why anyone would choose the ferry over a simple connecting flight. Tanzania's ferry safety record does not inspire confidence, even to Zanzibar.
Why is QR not a viable option for you?
Only you can decide which option is best for you.

At that time of day, you have approximately zero chance of making it through formalities and traffic in time.
I second the suggestion to pick one of the many Precision Air flights. At the end, it will cost you about the same, save you time and if safety is a major concern, even the worst airline would be safer than the ferry.

To clear immigration and customs at DAR can take up to 45 minutes. Then traffic to the Ferry terminal can take anywhere from 60-120 minutes. So not worth the risk.
I have flown PW many times from MBA DAR, DAR ZNZ, NBO DAR and NBO MWZ, and have never felt unsafe.
I would fly.
