Reward Flight/Upgrade

Hi, first post so go easy..

Recently qualified for GC Elite.

I was wondering if anyone knows if possible for me to buy a Y ticket to say MCO (subject to availability), can avail of the free flight for partner and use the 4 free upgrades there and back all in one transaction. Reading the rewards summary on GC web page it doesn't say you cant so is it possible and would just have to pay the taxes?

Cheers

When I was Elite I did the following: bought myself a Premier ticket (€1,350) Got a free companion ticket for my wife by just paying the tax (€250). Used 12000 points plus tax (€500) to get 2 economy tickets for my kids. Then used the 4 free upgrades to bump them to Premier. I think I paid in the region of €2,100 in total for flights that would have cost about €5,400 at the time of booking.

Thats great

Might be pushing it but.....

Would it be possible to cash in points for 2 x Y return TA flights and use the 4 x free upgrades; so in effect just paying the tax without need to purchase a full fare ticket at all?

Cheers

They were flexible. Used points for 1 x Y return DUB - MCO in August. Let me use partner flight and the 4 x upgrade flights. Taxes for the 2 x flights had to be paid but for £426 all in was well worth it.
