Upgrade-Plusgrade?
I just received an email from the upgrade-plusgrade from Aer Lingus on my flight #124 and #125 ORD-DUB, DUB-ORD, minimum bid $420. No u/g on the CLE-ORD, DUB-LHR, CDG-DUB, or ORD-CLE was available. Total cost for all these flights was $900 and change.
Should I give it the minimum bid? If not accepted than no worries, but they want my CC#...doesn't EI already have that info? Is this really legit?

Czech Airlines have been doing this for some time, they call it Plusgrade. You make an offer, enter your credit card numbers, and if they accept, it goes through. Their starting bid for European flights is so high, though, that I never considered the possibility...

Since this question is specifically about Aer Lingus, I'll move it to the EI forum where the experts therein can provide further input.

Bid for Upgrade on Aer Lingus
Hello All
Has anyone had any experience with bidding for upgrade on Aer Lingus? I recently placed a bid to upgrade for flights coming up in May. Many times I have seen the plane depart with almost empty Business Class cabins. I guess they have recognized that they can get a few extra dollars out of some cheap soul (like me) in economy.

My mom just won her bid on our NAP-DUB, DUB-BOS flights yesterday. There was no business on NAP-DUB so it was useless there but came in handy on DUB-BOS especially since we had overweight luggage that we just gave to her. She originally bid $350 but got rejected, so she re-bid $400 and found out two days before departure that she got it.
