I'm afraid you won't have much of a choice on the A330. No matter what you pick you will be re-seated in the first row. I believe the reason is that row 1 is the only row with the proper oxygen masks. This happened to us in July when traveling with a lap infant. Unfortunately the people on the phone generally don't have a clue.

Wish I had read this earlier...

Ran into this issue recently: 2 adults + 1 Infant, pre-allocated seats by phone (confirmed suitable or travel with infant), no on-line checkin due to infant on booking and then split and re-seated at airport check-in on opposite sides of the plane(!)

In fairness the ground staff pulled out all the stops to get us back into adjoining seats (in the first row) ^ but it did not exactly make for a relaxing start to an overnight trip.

Reason is a combination of availability of O2 masks and the presence of airbags in most of the Business class seats.

Is there a material difference between the new 757 business class and the A330 business class? I'm debating swapping an indirect DUB-JFK-DC flight on 330 to a nonstop DUB-DC on the Aer Lingus 757 (not an ASL Ireland operated one).

Its the same seat, same food. No WiFi (yet) on the 757 fleet.

All 4 of the 757's are ASL Ireland operated (though some of the pilots are Aer Lingus on secondment), cabin crew are Aer Lingus, all are in full Aer Lingus livery and the interior is green. This is not a white tail operation.

Any idea why some flights say "Operated by Aer Lingus" while others say "Operated By Ag Asl Airlines Irl"? For Dulles for example, 4x a week says the former and 3x a week the latter.

Hi,
Does anyone know if the Aer Lingus 757s operated by ASL Airlines Ireland have the fully flat business class? All flights to IAD from DUB say they're operated by ASL

From what I've read, they're slightly different. Do you have any experience on the 757? The ASL website says that its 2-2 angled.

They have since been refitted with the same cabin as the A330's. If you want a closer look, go to Dublin airport on Google Maps, and you can actually walk through the cabin of a 757 on Street View.

Thanks. So you've been on their 757? The ASL site still says 2-2 angled though

Are you sure? A while ago their website listed both EI 757s and ASL 757s from DUB to IAD
