EI-LAX

Anyone seen her recently?

Seems to be out of service and multiple TATL cancellations

EI-LAX's most recent flight was EI144, from LAX appropriately enough, landing ahead of schedule in Dublin at 13:46 on 19 July last.

My guess is that it's in for a scheduled maintenance check.

Very unusual to be a scheduled check in middle of peak season, clearly still in Dublin which again is usual as heavy checks are Bordeaux?

Guessing someone unfortunate

A "collision" is being very kind. Substantial damage caused to the aircraft and is expected to be out of service for weeks. I understand the damage is in the Millions of Euro

Back in service 11/8 DUB-ORD. I understand it had a tech issue on arrival ORD but opertaed the ORD-DUB on 12/8

I heard that someone mistakenly forgot that there was a set of steps connected to the tug that they were driving and drove under the tail of the aircraft. Low double digit damage in the millions (I heard it second hand so make of it what you will).

Or a transfer to the Aer Club office - he couldn't make things any worse over there!

Regardless of the steps in tow you shouldn't be driving under an aircraft at any time

If its just under the tail, there is the pressure bulkhead and thats expensive if damaged, otherwise its the horizontal stabilizer again expensive

Did this happen in Dublin, or elsewhere?

It must have been; EI-LAX's last recorded flight was EI144 from LAX to DUB on 18-19 July.

Its sad really, LAX while the oldest A330 was probably the most reliable

Heard it needed to get a replacement engine..mistakes happen but certainly wouldn't of wanted to be responsible for that damage. It's caused carnage with EI cancelled flights daily because of it.

Indeed This of course was at a time when it has caused the most disruption. There is little room for these incidents in peak Summer.
