I was able to successfully bid an upgrade to Business for $420 from DUB to BOS. There were quite a few empty seats on the flight, so don't despair.

Just received the email...not upgraded. I did receive another email last week to change my bid, and I did increase the bid by $40, but was still unsuccessful.

The unsuccessful bid email also mentioned I could upgrade my meal for €17.50. I ordered the diabetic meal and will bring along food to eat as I can only imagine what I will be served. My last diabetic meal was horrible. You don't serve a diabetic mass quantities of carbs!

My flight is tomorrow and I will be making a full trip report when back from holiday.

The premium meal choices are very clearly described - did you click on the link and look?

They're a definite step up from the standard meal offerings.

Price point info: €340 on the EI 104: not accepted.

Despite the email informing me that I could upgrade my meal this was not possible as this option had closed well before the advertised 24 notification period.

New: Make an offer to upgrade

How long after booking the ticket are people getting emails back with the offer to bid for an upgrade?

I think it was less than a week.

You don't have to wait for the email. You can go straight to "manage my booking" and do it from there.

EI 137 DUB-BOS 6/22
Husband bid $690 which I thought was ridiculously high. Unsuccessful, go figure.
