Cheapest way of earning 46 (!) tier miles?

Hello A3 forum,

my SO is currently 1046 tier miles short of renewing her A3*G. She has 2 legs booked in V on SA which should, hopefully, earn 500 miles each (flight is operated by SA Airlink, so she might get a big fat 0, but anyway).

I wanted to ask confirmation that the cheapest way of earning the missing 46 miles would be to buy them from A3 and pay 25€. In fact, even if the SA flights don't earn anything, probably paying 75€ for 1500 tier miles would still be the cheapest way.

Does anyone have other suggestions?

Thank you!

Yes. buy the miles. From Aegean web site:

" Tier miles purchase (privilege for Gold members)
Purchase up to 2000 tier miles within your membership year (12 consecutive months from the last tier upgrade/retain) to top up your miles balance in order to retain your tier. Tier miles are sold in sets of 500 at the price of 25€ per set.

I assumed malmostoso's renewal date is not in November, otherwise it does seem a bit unlikely!

My account says the deadline for earning the necessary status miles is November 23 this year. They've moved it forward by a day.

Now I'm not sure if a flight on Nov 24 will count for the new year already...

Remember to buy tier miles, not award miles.

Thank you all

The deadline is November, but all our planned travel is in cheap LH/LX Y which does not earn anything with A3, hence our need to purchase the missing miles.

Don't buy them just yet. You may have an IRROPs on LH/LX that could lead to you being put on a different flight in an earning booking class. You never know...

Or there might be some unexpected travel that would earn you some miles.

On the other hand, it probably makes sense to requalify as early as possible this year on the slight chance that this means that your package for next year will be sent early. Otherwise, you're likely to be without a physical card for a few months based on previous years' experience (there is no padding to the card's expiry date this year).

How much is the cheapest LH train ticket? Do you need to take a train anywhere?

I've never tried it, but I believe the point is that you don't actually have to be present, you can check in online and that's all you have to do. However, this thread seems to suggest that it doesn't work reliably for A3:
