Why are you confused? The only strike announced as of yesterday is the one of the public sector for November 24. There are no details available yet, so we don't know how this will affect flights. In other words, most probably the only thing that may affect your trip is the weather...

We may have more strikes than most European countries but, fortunately, wild strikes are extremely rare.

So GSEE (private sector workers' union) decided for a 24 hour strike on December 8th. That means the ADEDY (public sector) strike on November 24th is not a 'general' one (I guess that means there is less chance we will have huge disruptions to travel, but we'll see).

Are there any more strikes on the radar? Specifically, I'm due to fly through ATH tomorrow so that's my main interest!

Nothing as of now. I am also flying out of ATH tomorrow and just checked the general strike homepage and airport site for any updates. Everything seems to be back to normal for the airport.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned about this too as I'm flying through Greece on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

PS. Anyone has information if this will hopefully be over by Saturday and really only restricted to Wednesday and Thursday? Got a plane to catch to Athens & ferry from Piraeus to Paros on Saturday..

Radio Eriwan will gladly answer your question: in principle it's only tomorrow, so you can relax. BUT, the seamen's union ΠΝΟ is known to turn 24 hours strikes into two day-ones and, often, even longer. So I wish you luck with the boat...
