New codeshare agreements for A3
Aegean Airlines and SAS commence code-share partnership
Quote:
Star Alliance members, Aegean Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines are today entering into a code-share agreement that offers Scandinavian travelers more and quicker transfer points across Europe. In addition, the code share will allow Aegean Airlines to offer Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm, as new destinations in its International Network. The partnership will also allow SAS to offer 6 new onward connections via a transfer in Athens: Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes, Kos and Larnaca (Cyprus).

SAS operates 12 weekly direct flights between Copenhagen and Athens. The new code share agreement will add a vast range of options connecting SAS and Aegean Airlines at five European airports, as well as better connections to Thessaloniki.

As of today, SAS will add its SK prefix to Aegean Airlines’ flights from Athens to Chania, Heraklion, Kos, Larnaca and Rhodes, as well as between Athens and Brussels, London, Milan, Paris and Rome. In return, Aegean’s A3 prefix will be placed on SAS flights between Copenhagen and Athens, as well as flights between Copenhagen/Oslo/Stockholm and Brussels, London, Milan, Paris and Rome.

Aegean Airlines became a Star Alliance member last year, which means the SAS EuroBonus members earn points on all Aegean Airlines flights as well as Aegean’s Miles & Bonus members earn points on all SAS flights.
