Will a Public Servant save (us from) Accor IT?

This relatively young lady has just been nominated Accor's Chief Digital Officer, a position sorely missing in the Executive Committee. Her scope of responsibilities as outlined in the press release suggests she is to focus on fixing the booking system and online reservation tools that brought many of us to wit's end.
What is interesting is her background - apparently most of her career was with the public sector, both with SNCF (French state-owned railway company) and even the Prime Minister's office. While she certainly has to be a very bright and daring individual to be posted to so many challenging positions while still being under 40, the lack of outright mentions of "digital" or "e-commerce" in her resume is a bit of a surprise.
Godspeed to Maud, I hope she knows how much of an Augeas Stable she has to clean and has the stamina and vision to do so. I guess it may be less about figuring out a future revolution, as one has already happened in hospitality, but rather getting people to get work done, which may be what her experience is about.

It can't get any worse.
Although Accor IT screwups have made for some nice Fairmont BRGs in recent months
Dropped from Accor Platinum to Accor Basic in recent months and never looked back. Awful program and customer service.

They should starting hiring competent programmers who are dedicated to delivering quality. Every piece of IT coming from Accor just has spaghetti all over it. This could be caused by a few reasons:
1) The programmers don't have enough seniority to know how to do it the right way
or 2) The people in the managing positions are constantly demanding for new features without ever thinking about laying a proper foundation
or 3) The programmers don't have enough backbone to push for long-term (foundational) projects
or 4) They outsource everything to a country whose culture and language Accor doesn't understand
or 5) A combination of the above (most likely)
Source: am IT specialist for a major loyalty programme. Have seen it all happen, not only Accor is a mess.
