There is one small issue to overcome; this form does not allow you to register using an email address that attaches to an existing A-Club membership. The work-around is simply; complete the registration with a another email address (or any text string that contains the symbol) then once you get to the page that confirms your new membership number navigate to the page with your personal information and change your email address to the one you want.

Asking other brands to match normally requires you to prove that you reached "Platinum" by staying there and they normally ask you to send the copy of your statement that indicates that.
I am Platinum in PC and when tried to get myself matched with Hilton, that's what I was asked.

Also digged all the way through the 2011 closed thread, and found scattered info on the origin- but it also gave me good background info on the program etc.

Normaly the promotion is for the HSBC Premier Credit Card customers.
The promotion is valid from 20 April 2011 until 31 March 2012

But as there is no verification of the credit card number or anything, everyone can benefit from it. ^

Just to confirm - is there any mention of the Platinum status option during the application process? Clicking on the link takes me to the application, but I can't see any field for a promo code, nor any mention that I'll be awarded Platinum status once it's complete.
