Well, here it is and it's even better than I thought- The DOUBLE miles ARE ELITE QUALIFYING:

Through 5/15/00
Earn double miles systemwide when you purchase a paid, qualifying ticket and fly through May 15, 2000. As an added incentive, bonus miles earned COUNT towards PREFERRED status.
Registration for this offer is NOT required. This offer is valid on ALL US Airways, US Airways Express carriers, US Airways Shuttle and MetroJet flights. Qualifying tickets include ALL booking CLASSES. All Dividend Miles rules apply.

i'm on it. got trips planned to paris, munich, and dc, all from ny, with one ending in lax. i plan to get around 40k during the promo for silver, and then take another european flight later in the year to achieve gold and ensure the status will be good for 2001-2002.

US Airways FA's Union voted "unanimously" to send its tentative agreement to members for vote with a recommendation to vote FOR the contract.
EASY ELITE "plus" & do not forget also;

TWA is now offering a "partial" match of US Airways- but no EASY ELITE!
Double miles but REGISTRATION required!
