Air Transat leg room
A warning mostly for those in Eastern Canada. TS is getting a couple A320 for the winter season(in exchange for a couple A330 to Star Airlines.) I believe they will be used mostly from Toronto. These A320 are equipped with 180 seats! Tango had 156 is you want to compare. I guess that means about 4" less leg room!

My wife and son have flown to Florida a few times on Air Transat and have warned me about the leg room. My lady wife is only five-foot-two and she said she was cramped. She told me: "You simply wouldn't be able to sit down on one of their planes." (I'm six-foot-two.)

Skyservice has always had 180 pax on their 320's. I also believe that C3000 was the same.
Can't even imagine the pain of my knees up against the seat in front me for a couple of hours.

I've found AT's legroom to be absolutely horrid. Their L-1011 planes are even worse, with a 3-5-3 config in Y (I think).
And yes, you WILL eat your knees on one of their flights, especially if you're over 6' tall.

However, the 747 was designed for 9 abreast although airlines quickly moved to 10 abreast and I believe JL and NH uses 11 abreast for domestic Japan flights.

According to the AT website, the L1011-150 and L1011-500's are configured for 3-4-3 seating (10 across). It's not 11, but more than the 8 or 9 you suggest.
In any event, it's a tight fit!

Just want to bring your attention to the following website www.kneedefender.com, which might be useful not only on Air Transat flights. Could cause some problems during flight though.....
