YHM - John C. Munro Int'l Airport?

Noticed in the Globe & Mail article about Tango that YHM is the John C. Munro International Airport. Is this the guy who was some minister under a latter Trudeau government?

Yes, he was the Indian Affairs Minister.

These days he's a drunken old man who tried unsuccessfully to run for mayor last year.

In fairness to John Munroe, his years after leaving Parliament got tangled up in a vendetta which left him broke and a bitter man, being hounded for something he was exhonnerated for. I knew him a bit back in the 60s because I dated his daughter, Kelly, and he was a very dedicated and fair MP and later cabinet minister. A very sad story indeed.

It could be worse. They could have named it Sheila Copps International Airport.

And Shareholder, "in fairness to John Munroe," maybe you should spell his name correctly.

... and he was "exhonnerated"?? I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I couldn't find that word in the dictionary.

He managed to win a generous lawsuit against the Liberal Party/federal government. It's so typical of the Liberals to back stab their own.

As for Sheila Copps, unfortunately she would have to die before we can have a chance at taking the Hamilton East riding.

Also, his (now ex-)wife was an MPP in Ontario under the David Peterson Liberal government. She was involved in a major scandal involving a Jewish society charity fund. This scandal helped bring the evil Bob Rae NDP government to power.

Liberals = never-ending scandals...

Alliance = unelectable far-right religion-inspired authoritarian party (and I am someone who wishes there were libertarians to vote for).

Through my involvement in the Alliance, I've met fellow members with Christian, Jewish, Sikh, and Native faiths. Therefore I'm curious to know exactly which of these religions inspire us. I guess as long as it's not the Taliban cult, it's all good eh?

I wouldn't say "unelectable". As soon as we get the right leader, we'll achieve great things for Canada.

You mean Joe Clark or Peter MacKay, don't worry one of them will probably be your leader soon!

Don't forget FlyerAl that backstabbing is not limited only to Liberals (nor typical), the Tory's have done it many times (Erik Neilson) and the (former) Alliance was one huge backstab!

I'm no fan of our current Lib. leadership AT ALL, but in politics, anything goes.

Just look at BC provincial - the wild, wild west!
