Another Fuel Surcharge Hits Canadian Travelers on Canada 3000

Fuel Surcharge Hits Canadian Travelers

Passengers on Canada's domestic air routes face a fuel surcharge of CDN$15 from June 1 if they travel with the country's second largest airline, Canada 3000.

The carrier said today that the surcharge will apply to one-way travel on all its domestic routes, blaming continuing high fuel prices for the move.

The surcharge will be levied until fuel prices recede or the additional cost is absorbed into permanent fare increases, the company stated.

Canada 3000 president Angus Kinnear said the airline regretted having to increase the cost of domestic air travel but was obliged to recover the incremental cost increases created by the price of fuel.
